The last official pillar of My Timber Pets is upgrade your crew: chop faster, carry more wood, and grow the empire. Crew is everything that is not a tree and not a floor. It includes animal stats, extra animal slots, and the roll button that can replace a chicken with something closer to the dinosaur-style earner in the late-game thumbnail.

The two crew numbers that matter

Idle lumber games almost always hide two caps:

1. Chop speed. How often an animal hits the tree. Faster speed raises logs per second even on a cube tree.
2. Carry. How many logs they hold before they must stack, deposit, or freeze. Official art shows small piles on the starter island and huge rainbow log stacks on the mushroom island. When piles stop growing, you are carry-capped.

If animals stand still next to a full stack, buy carry. If they move but /s is tiny, buy speed or a better forest tree. Do not buy a floor to solve either problem.

Open the shop and look for labels such as speed, chop, swing, carry, capacity, backpack, or strength. Buy the one that matches the symptom you can see.

Extra slots versus extra stats

An extra animal slot is only value if you have a tree for it. Two chickens on one cube tree may or may not stack; test it. If the /s counter does not rise when a second animal arrives, the plot is single-staff. Put the second animal on a second tree, which means you needed forest/space first.

Slots become important right after a new floor, because a new deck is a handful of empty jobs. Keep commons in storage for that moment instead of deleting everything that is not a fox.

Rolling is a crew upgrade with variance

Unlimited free rolls are a crew tool with a random outcome. Treat a roll session as “try to replace my worst worker,” not as the gameplay loop. Steps:

1. Note your lowest assigned /s or the weakest model (usually the starter chicken).
2. Roll a short burst.
3. Equip a winner onto the tree before unequipping the loser.
4. If nothing won, stop. Buy speed or carry with logs instead.

Traits as crew upgrades

If a trait raises chop speed or carry, it is a crew upgrade you found in the gacha instead of the shop. Keep it even if the model is less cool than the dinosaur. If a trait only changes color, it is cosmetics. The animal index will list traits as they are confirmed in tooltips. We will not invent percentages.

Robux crew products

The Roblox store tab on the game page can include gamepasses or developer products (the public API listing was empty when we checked, which does not guarantee the in-game shop is empty). If you see 2x speed, extra slots, or auto-collect:

• Auto-collect is quality of life for AFK, not a requirement.
• Extra slots help after floors, not before the first tree.
• 2x speed is the only product that might beat a week of logging, and only if you already like the game.

Skip every pack on day one. Getting Started should stay free.

Crew and AFK

Crew upgrades keep paying after you close the menu. That makes them better AFK spends than more rolls. Before you leave:

• Speed and carry purchased if cheap.
• Worst worker replaced if a better animal is sitting in storage.
• Every tree staffed.

Then leave. Do not AFK on the roll button. Details in how to farm AFK.

A simple crew spend ladder

1. Assign anyone to the first tree.
2. Buy cheap speed until clicks feel unnecessary (they should already be).
3. Buy carry when stacks freeze.
4. Roll in short bursts for a better model.
5. Buy a slot only when a tree is empty.
6. Repeat after each floor.

If a code gives a named animal, run the same ladder: assign it, then see if /s moved. If a code gives raw logs, prefer forest unless carry is frozen.

Crew is how the same forest starts looking like the 45Q/s thumbnail. Trees set the ceiling; animals push you toward it. Upgrade both, and stop rolling when the trees are idle.
