Getting Started in My Timber Pets

Leave the tutorial with a staffed tree and a plan for the next upgrade, not a pile of unused rolls.

Getting Started

My Timber Pets is a Roblox idle tycoon from WingBrain. You hire animals to chop trees, spend logs on a bigger forest, and roll for rarer crew while the island keeps earning in the background. This page is the first-hour checklist. Read it once, then keep how to play and the AFK farm guide for later sessions.

The experience launched on 22 July 2026 (place ID 111035930019117). Servers hold six players. You are not racing those five other avatars for the same tree. You are building your own floating plot. Treat other players as a leaderboard, not as PvP.

Before you spawn

  1. Open the official game page so you join the real place, not a copycat.
  2. Join the WingBrain community. Some Roblox tycoons hide a later group gift behind membership even when no code exists yet.
  3. Set graphics low if you are on a phone. Extra floors and mushroom trees add parts; the idle loop does not need max shadows.
  4. Bookmark this wiki. The codes hub is empty as of 1 Sep 2026, but you will want the redeem steps the day a string drops.

Tutorial and badges

The game awards Welcome! for joining and Tutorial Completed! for finishing the onboarding. Both are freebie badges with near-100% unlock rates, which tells you the tutorial is short on purpose. Do not skip the prompts that place your first animal. The whole economy assumes something is chopping when you look away.

If a prompt mentions a tree, walk to it and interact. Official art shows a chicken standing on a tiny fenced island with a green cube tree, a hatchet, and a 1/s log counter. That is the intended first picture of success: not a rare fox, not a three-story tower, just one staffed tree.

First ten minutes

  1. Place or assign the starter animal on the nearest tree. If the HUD has an equip or assign button, use it. An animal in your inventory is not chopping.
  2. Watch the log counter. You should see a per-second rate, even if it is 1/s.
  3. Collect or auto-deposit logs if the game requires a carry trip. Promotional shots show log stacks on the grass and later on purple platforms. If a carry upgrade exists, it is a crew upgrade, not a forest upgrade.
  4. Open the upgrade menu. Buy the cheapest tree or forest option that raises income. Do not buy a floor yet. Unlock floors only after the first story is staffed.
  5. Ignore the roll button until one upgrade is done. Unlimited free rolls are a feature, not a first-minute task. See rare animals when you have a baseline rate to compare against.

What to buy with the first logs

Spend in this order unless a tutorial quest forces a different click:

  1. A better tree on the plot you already have. Cube trees become mushroom trees in later art for a reason: each chop is worth more.
  2. A crew stat that raises chop speed or carry. Faster trips mean the 1/s number actually climbs.
  3. A second animal slot only if you already have a second tree. Two animals on one tree is a maybe; two animals and one tree is a crowd.
  4. A new floor only when the ground story has no empty staffed plot left. The upgrades tier list spells out why empty floors are expensive screenshots.

If a menu sells Robux packs, skip them on day one. The official listing is free-to-play. You can learn the loop without a starter pack. Come back to purchases after you understand how to play.

Controls on day one

My Timber Pets uses standard Roblox movement:

ActionKeyboardMobile
MoveWASD or arrowsThumbstick
CameraRight mouse / trackpadDrag
JumpSpaceJump button
Interact / chopClick or tap the tree, button, or promptTap

There is no separate combat layer. If you cannot click a tree, you are probably still in a tutorial lock or standing on the wrong plot. Rejoin if the island never appears; the listing uses R15 avatars and a six-player cap, so a full server is possible during peak hours.

First-hour goals

  • Tutorial Completed badge.
  • At least one animal assigned.
  • At least one forest upgrade purchased.
  • A log rate higher than the 1/s starter shot.
  • A decision about AFK: leave the client open on a staffed tree, or close it knowing animals still earn as the official description promises. Details live on how to farm AFK.
  • Zero random executors. The scripts hub had no dedicated My Timber Pets listing on 1 Sep 2026.

Optional: do a few rolls if the button is free and unlimited, but keep the starter chicken until a pull clearly beats it. Official late-game art shows 45Q/s next to a dinosaur-style animal and mushroom trees. You will not reach that in an hour. You will reach a better cube tree.

What not to do

Do not trade your first rare-looking animal to a stranger in a six-player server. Do not hop into a copycat place that steals the thumbnail. Do not paste Timber! codes. Do not buy a second floor because the overview screenshot looks like a palace. Do not stand idle at the roll button while the chicken is off the tree.

When the first hour is over, pick one bottleneck: slow chops (crew), weak trees (forest), or no space (floors). The progress checklist is a printable version of that choice. Come back to codes only when a live string exists.

You are ready to play when the island earns without you staring at it. That is the whole tutorial.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for My Timber Pets on Roblox.

What is the first animal in My Timber Pets?

Official art shows a chicken on a green cube tree at 1 log per second. Keep it assigned until a roll clearly beats that rate. See the animal index.

Should I roll immediately?

Not before a tree is staffed. Unlimited rolls are part of the design, but rare animals only help if something is already chopping.

Is My Timber Pets pay-to-win on day one?

The listing is free-to-play. Skip Robux packs until you understand how to play and the upgrades tier list.

How many players share my island?

Servers hold six players, but each wood empire is your plot. You are not competing for the same cube tree.
