My Timber Pets Best Crew to Run
One earner on the best tree, commons on new pads, trophies in storage.
“Best crew” in My Timber Pets means the lineup that prints the most logs while you AFK, not the lineup that looks like a sticker book. Use this page after you understand how to play. Use the animal tier list if you want letter grades instead of a suggested formation.
The island is a set of jobs. Each tree is a job. Your crew is whoever fills those jobs. Extra animals are bench. Bench does not chop.
Default formation
- Best tree, best animal. Mushroom pads get the dinosaur-style earner, the kitsune-style fox if its tooltip wins, or whatever currently shows the highest
/s. This is the S-tier slot. - Other planted trees, next-best rates. Sort descending. Do not put your worst unit on your second-best tree “for balance.” There is no PvP balance.
- New floor pads, any body. Commons exist so floors are not empty overnight. A chicken on floor two is better than a vacant mushroom pad.
- Storage, trophies and dupes. Flex models with bad rates, extra copies, and unclear items like the 1/6.7Qn red log. See the animal index.
- Never: zero animals assigned. That formation earns
0/sand makes AFK a waste of electricity.
Starter crew (first session)
- Slot 1: chicken on the cube tree.
- Rolls: optional, short burst only.
- Shop: forest, then speed/carry, not a floor.
This is Getting Started. The best crew is the one that exists on a tree.
Mid crew (you have mushroom trees)
- Slot 1: highest rate on the best mushroom.
- Slots 2–N: remaining trees filled.
- One luck-trait animal only if you are about to roll; swap it back before you go AFK.
- Keep at least two commons in storage for the first extra floor.
If you must choose between a pretty fox and a higher-rate dinosaur-style unit, the dinosaur stays on the tree. Put the fox on tree two or in storage. Rarity is not a formation bonus.
Late crew (multi-floor island)
Official art of three stories is a staffing puzzle:
- Top floor, best trees: S-tier earners and income traits.
- Middle: A-tier rates.
- Bottom or leftover pads: B-tier commons.
- Ladder time is for you, not for the animals; they should already be assigned before you climb for screenshots.
If a new story costs so much that you cannot buy trees for it, delay the story. The upgrades tier list agrees.
Trait lineup
When tooltips list traits, build toward the bottleneck:
| Bottleneck | Prefer |
|---|---|
Low /s, animals moving | Income or speed traits on best trees |
| Frozen piles | Carry traits anywhere |
| Rolling session | One luck trait, temporary |
| Empty floor | Any animal, trait optional |
Do not run five luck animals while you sleep. Luck does not chop. Rare animals explains the same rule from the gacha side.
What “best” is not
- Not a YouTuber’s 1/67Qn flex island copied without staffing.
- Not a script auto-equip from another pet game. No dedicated My Timber Pets script was listed on 1 Sep 2026 (scripts).
- Not six of the same trophy if you only own two trees.
- Not trading your only earner because someone in the six-player server asked.
Swapping without losing AFK
Always assign the new animal first if the UI allows two on the pad during the swap. If it allows only one, accept a few seconds of downtime, not a few hours. Never start a roll burst that auto-replaces your whole crew. If a setting says auto-equip higher rarity, turn it off unless rarity in this game is proven to equal rate.
After a patch, re-check the formation. A new tree tier can make an old S-tier animal look small; that is a forest problem as much as a crew problem. A new animal name belongs on the animal index and then, if the counter moves, in slot 1 here.
The best crew is boring on purpose: highest rates on best trees, commons on new pads, trophies in the box. If that looks less exciting than the fox thumbnail, good. The fox thumbnail is advertising. The counter is the game.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for My Timber Pets on Roblox.
Should the rare fox always be slot one?
Only if its logs per second or income trait wins. Otherwise it is storage or a side tree. Check the animal tier list.
How many animals do I need?
At least one per planted tree. Extra floors need extra bodies. See unlock floors.
Can I run an all-rare crew?
If you own that many high-rate rares, yes. If "rare" means pretty but weak, no. Staffing beats flex.
Do I need luck animals for AFK?
No. Luck helps rolls while you are present. AFK wants speed, carry, and income. See how to farm AFK.
