My Timber Pets Animal Traits

The Roblox icon for My Timber Pets is a blue snake with a red TRAIT stamp. That is marketing for a second layer on top of the animal model: a bonus that is not just “this fox looks rare.” This page is how to read those bonuses without inventing a datamined table. Pair it with the animal index, the animal ranking, and how to get rare animals.

If a pull has no trait line, it is still a worker. Assign it by logs per second. Traits are a tie-breaker and a specialist tool, not a reason to leave a tree empty.

What a trait is

A trait is a sentence on the animal tooltip. Official art does not print the live list of names. Until a patch note on the updates hub publishes one, treat the in-game text as the only source. Typical idle-tycoon families (verify each one in your client) are:

• Chop / speed — hits the tree more often. Raises /s on whatever forest you planted.
• Carry / capacity — holds more logs before freezing. Unsticks AFK when piles stop growing.
• Income / wood — multiplies the value of each chop. Best on your best forest tree.
• Luck — helps rolls while you are actually tapping the red button. Useless overnight.
• Cosmetic / color — sparkles. Not a crew upgrade.

If the tooltip does not match one of those families, do not guess. Screenshot it, assign by rate, and wait for the index to catch up.

How to inspect a trait

1. Open the collection or crew menu.
2. Select the animal. Read the full sentence, not the rarity tag.
3. Equip it on a known tree. Watch the /s counter for ten seconds.
4. If the counter did not move and the trait was not luck, it is cosmetics or a floor-wide aura that needs more than one copy. Unequip if the model is worse than your chicken.
5. Never delete a trait animal on day one. Storage is cheaper than regret when a later patch adds fusion.

Upgrade crew is the shop version of speed and carry. A trait that does the same job is a gacha shop. You can mix them.

The kitsune-style fox at 1/67Qn in official art may or may not roll with a strong trait. Measure it. The dinosaur-style earner next to 45Q/s is the income mascot; a weak trait on that silhouette still beats a sparkle chicken.

Traits versus floors and forest

A speed trait on a cube tree is still a cube tree. Plant forest first, then put the trait animal on the mushroom pad. A luck trait does not staff floor three. Commons without traits still exist so new stories are not empty palaces.

Do not buy a Robux luck pass to “finish traits” before you understand how to play. Unlimited free rolls already exist. Luck products only compress time if you like the game.

The blue snake

The icon snake is a trait mascot, not proof that every snake in the collection is S-tier. When a snake-like pull appears, read the tooltip. If it is the TRAIT showcase unit, it still has to beat your current /s. The animal index will name it when the client prints a stable label.

What traits are not

• Not PvP stances. There is no arena.
• Not a trading currency. Do not hand a trait fox to a stranger in a six-player server.
• Not a script toggle. No dedicated My Timber Pets script was listed on 1 Sep 2026. A GUI that auto-equips “highest rarity” can bench your only income trait. See scripts.
• Not a substitute for codes. When a code grants an animal, run the same inspect steps.

After a patch

If WingBrain adds named traits (for example a floor aura or a log-mutation), this page will list the live names and the September 2026 notes will flag the change. Until then, the rule is one sentence: read the tooltip, then watch the counter.

Traits are how two islands with the same mushroom trees diverge. Use them after the trees are staffed, not instead of staffing.
